Currency Exchange has claimed that the fourth most valuable digital currency in the market, Litecoin, has been targeted by a hosting attack.

There has been a flurry of activity over the past couple of hours on crypto twitter as reports are emerging of a new cyber-attack which has targeted Litecoin users. Binance Academy tweeted an alert leading to a detailed explanation earlier.

The tweet also included a link to a transaction cited as part of the attack, in which a fraction of a Litecoin
50 addresses have been sent. In an effort to explain the concept of hosting attacks, Binance also described it as follows:

The Dasting Attack is a new type of subversive attacks in which hackers and villains try to break their privacy by sending small amounts of Coins to the wallets of Bitcoin users and other digital currencies.

The method used in these attacks is that the hacker will be able to track the transaction activities of these wallets after sending these small amounts. The attackers then attempt to gain the identity of the person or entity controlling them by analyzing this information.
